Galliford Try boosts fire protection offering with Nene Valley acquisition
Galliford Try, the FTSE 250-listed construction group, announces that it is expanding its operations in the passive fire protection market with the acquisition of Nene Valley Fire & Acoustics.
Galliford Try has acquired the Northamptonshire-based business, which is expected to report turnover of £10m in the current year, with operating profits exceeding 10%.
Nene Valley Fire will merge with Galliford Try’s Oak Fire Protection business under the Nene Valley Fire brand. Together, they will become part of Asset Intelligence, where Galliford Try already delivers active fire protection, enabling the enlarged business to offer complete fire safety solutions directly through an in-house team.
The deal is in line with Galliford Try’s Sustainable Growth Strategy which targets both complementary acquisitions and growth in higher margin, specialist sectors.
Bill Hocking, Chief Executive of Galliford Try, commented: “We are delighted to have been able to complete this acquisition which will extend and enhance our offering in this key market.
“The acquisition represents a great strategic fit for Galliford Try, expanding access to an addressable market of £1bn in the UK fire protection sector. Nene Valley Fire has successfully grown its business under its existing structure, and Galliford Try will provide the governance, scale and resources to unlock its full potential. I look forward to working with our new colleagues to deliver growth for the Nene Valley Fire business and our Group in the years to come.”
